Optimal sizing of hybrid system through particle swarm optimization for rural areas in Iraq

In today’s modern world, any community anywhere has the right to have access a basic level of electricity. It is with this in mind that efforts are being made provide electric power even most remote locations. Solar and wind energy examples renewable sources both clean versatile. For distant rural school south-eastern Iraq, research presents Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) reduce Cost Energy (COE) according maximum dependability Hybrid Renewable System (HRES), by utilizing an integrated electrical generation system. The suggested hybrid system consists PV, WT, BT, all which subject certain investment restriction. Results showed that, optimal sizing Number Photovoltaics (NPV) equal (9), Wind turbines (NWT) (6), batteries (NBT) (29), (0.536 US$/kwh), Loss supply probability (0.091 %), reliability (99.909 %) factors (100 (59 PV penetration, (41 WT penetration. As result, use justified from technological, economic, humanitarian standpoint.
